Installation Secrets: Getting a Farmhouse Sink Level Every Time

A farmhouse sink makes a bold statement—but only if it’s installed correctly. One of the most common mistakes is improper leveling, which leads to drainage problems, cracked countertops, and visible gaps. Getting it right requires planning before the sink ever touches the cabinet.

The key is support, not clips. Farmhouse sinks must rest on a solid support frame or rails built into the cabinet. Never rely on countertop weight alone. Measure the apron height carefully to align with your cabinet face.

Use a level in multiple directions—front to back and side to side—before securing the sink permanently. Even a slight tilt can cause water to pool or strain the plumbing connections.

Once level, apply high-quality silicone where the sink meets the countertop. Allow it to cure fully before reconnecting plumbing or adding weight.
